Connect Telegram

Updated October 2, 2026

The same BoText assistant can answer in Telegram. The website widget stays in place. Telegram is a messenger bot you connect, not a second BoText project: knowledge, skills, CRM tables, and credits are shared.

Messenger bots are included on the free trial and from the Business plan upward (Scale, Enterprise, Custom). Trial and Business include 1 live Telegram bot, Scale 2, Enterprise 5. The Basic plan does not include messenger bots. Extra slots: Connect extra messenger bots.

1. Create a Telegram bot

  1. Open Telegram and talk to BotFather.
  2. Send /newbot, pick a name and a username.
  3. Copy the token BotFather sends. It looks like 123456789:AA....

2. Connect it in BoText

  1. Open the dashboard and go to Channels.
  2. Paste the token and connect. BoText checks the token with Telegram and sets the webhook.
  3. Write to your bot in a private chat. Replies use the same knowledge as the website widget.
  4. Leave setup on Regular (recommended) to answer like the website. Switch to Custom only if this Telegram bot should stay on one topic: add a column name (for example Electronics or Mokotów), then fill in What this bot answers. That text is stored on the column.

v1 answers private chats only. A personal Telegram login (answering as your work account) is not supported. Use a BotFather bot.

Plans

If Channels shows an upgrade screen, the current plan is Basic. Switch to Business or stay on the free trial. See Pricing and Conversations, usage, and plans.

Where chats appear

Telegram threads show up under Analytics → Chats with a Telegram label. Contacts and custom-table skills work the same way as on the website.

Credits are shared with the website widget. When the plan is out of usage, Telegram does not reply either.
